Photography Equipment Backup Plan

Here is my photography essentials backup plan.

It’s always a good idea to have a backup for your essential equipment.

You never know when a “glitch” could stop you in your tracks.

In the event of a mechanical failure or even a accidental drop, you should have a fall back plan.

I currently have 3 backup options with varying options.

I have found myself in a few of situation where my backup equipment has come into play.  This will allow you to seamlessly pick up where you left off, it’s what sets aside the professionals from enthusiasts.

Vintage Lens for DSLR Cameras

It’s worth getting an old lens to make your video look unique. Here I show you my 28mm Prime that I have had for years. It can be easily adapted to new DSLR cameras with an adapter ring.
It will be manual focus of course, so a bit of a palaver but its worth it.
I use is the Vavaron Zoom Control Lever to help me out a bit.


Canon EOS 550D DSLR

The Canon EOS 550D is an 18.0 megapixel digital single-lens reflex camera, announced by Canon on February 8, 2010. It was available since 24 February 2010. It is part of Canon’s entry/mid-level digital SLR camera series, and was the successor model to the EOS 500D. It was succeeded by the EOS 600D.

Canon EF 70–200mm f2.8L IS USM

The EF 70–200mm lenses are a group of telephoto zoom full-frame lens made by Canon. The lenses have an EF mount to work with the EOS line of cameras.

The lens comes in seven different versions, all of which have fixed maximum aperture at all focal lengths, and are L-series lenses.

The Canon EF 24–70mm lens is a family of professional EF mount wide-to-normal zoom lenses manufactured and sold by Canon. The first of the family, the EF 24–70mm f/2.8L, was introduced in 2002 to replace the well-regarded 28–70mm f/2.8L. Two later versions were announced in 2012.
